This outfit offers private chartered boats (32-36 footers complete with kitchen facilities) where you can sit back and relax with the captain at the helm or you can participate as you navigate the Monterey Bay National Sanctuary. You can bring your own food on board to enjoy a nice meal while you sail (or they can recommend a caterer) and they allow a maximum of 6 people (great to split up the costs amongst 3 couples). Conveniently located right in Monterey Harbor, Monterey Bay Sailing and Diving offers a wide variety of excursions including sunset sails, dinner cruises (with a 4 course meal with surf and turf and french pastries), nature trips and extreme sails (more of a thrilling ride as you sail quickly over breaking seas). For the bay cruises, prices go at $39 - $399 & Kids under 12 $25 - $79 Sunset dinner cruises are $90pp. You can even experience sleeping overnight on the boat as it is docked in the harbor at $160 per couple. Other than the sailing trips, they also offer scuba and snorkeling ($70 for 2 hours with a guide) and a sailing school.

The Chardonnay II is a magnificent, 70 foot luxury sailing yacht based out of Santa Cruz with trips made up and down the coastline through the Monterey Bay Sanctuary. If you prefer to be on a larger boat and meeting some new people for a less expensive price than most sailing charters, this is a great option. Some of the favorite excursions include a Sunset sail ($51.98 pp including wine and hors d'oeuvres), a full moon sail ($51.98pp including wine, pizza and beer and the stars), and their Winemaker sails $51.98pp includes the featured wine, hors d'oeurves and the wine maker on board to discuss what your drinking). The boat is all decked out with CD player, full kitchen/galley and special dining area. All tours are 51.98 except the Thursday Night Special which is $41.48
